I am setting up a windows 10 VM in Azure. I’ve done this before, but this time it is asking me to tick a box to confirm I have “an eligible Windows 10 licence with multi-tenant hosting rights”, which I have not seen before.. I understood that OS licences were included in the cost of the VM in Azure, but is that no longer the case for Windows 10?
If the licence isn’t included in the cost, what exactly do I need to buy for a single VM running regular Win10 Pro. I tried Googling, but nothing gives a simple answer to what I thought would be a simple question. Attachments: Up to 10 attachments including images can be used with a maximum of 3. If you wish to use Windows 10 VM’s you will need to bring your own licences. Just to add: Microsoft can easily provide a Windows 10 license in built into the VMs as a paid feature – just like server inbuilt paid license VMs!
That way no need to worry for the customer of choosing the right Windows 10 VM and license! Never knew that. I guess the tick box must be a new addition to draw people’s attention to it, and enforce it. Best be getting a licence then.
